Child safety standards
Last updated: October 22, 2026
Palavr has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. If you see it, report it in the app or email safety@palavrapp.com. If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
Palavr is operated by Walking Visuals LLC. These standards apply to everything on Palavr: Palavers, messages, margin notes, profiles, usernames, display names, and tags.
1. Our standards
Palavr prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form, including:
- child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or links to it;
- any content that sexualizes minors;
- grooming: building trust with a minor in order to exploit them;
- sextortion, or soliciting sexual content from a minor; and
- trafficking or otherwise exploiting minors.
This is part of the house rules in our Terms, and the Terms' zero-tolerance policy applies.
2. Who can use Palavr
Palavr is for people aged 13 and over. We ask for a date of birth at sign-up and refuse accounts for anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email privacy@palavrapp.com and we'll remove it.
3. How to report
- In the app: long-press a message and choose Report, use Report Palaver in a Palaver's menu, or report a person from the menu on their profile. Choose "Sexual content involving a minor". These reports are highlighted for moderators, and you'll see the outcome under Settings → My reports.
- By email: safety@palavrapp.com is our child-safety contact. Use it for margin notes, for anything you can't report in the app, and if you aren't on Palavr. Include the @username and the Palaver if you have them. Please don't attach or forward the material itself.
- To NCMEC: in the US, you can also report directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
4. What we do
- We remove CSAE content and ban the accounts involved.
- We report apparent CSAM to NCMEC, as US law requires, and preserve what the law requires us to preserve.
- We cooperate with law enforcement on child-safety matters. Law enforcement requests go to legal@palavrapp.com.
